The area of Paleokastritsa has many high cliffs that make some beaches difficult to access by land. That’s one reason to explore the area by boat. There are private guided boat trips to remote beaches where you will find paradise on earth. A driver will pick you up at your hotel and an experienced boatman will guide you along the uncountable coves to your own private beach.
There are a couple of caves that are accessible by boat. They are rather small, but it’s a lovely trip. In the crystal blue water everywhere you see fish swim or orange starfishes glued to the rocks.
If you can’t afford a private tour, at the bays of Paleokastritsa guided boat trips are organized many times a day. You will take the tour together with some other tourists. Some trips take around forty five minutes and will take you around the rocky coastline and into some small caves. Others last all day with barbeque and stops to swim at remote beaches. The views are spectacular and the experience unforgettable.
Some people rent a pedalo to visit the caves that are more close to the coast. But be careful because if the sea isn’t calm enough and water gets into the pedalo it will sink within a couple of seconds.
